You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. The present selection, from Cecil Sharp’s Morris Dance Tunes (with Herbert McIlwaine and George Butterworth [London: Novello, 1909-11]), contains 4 melodies from the vast number collected from traditional sources by Sharp and his collaborators: (1) the old favourite, Shepherds’ Hey; (2) an old favourite in a new guise, the Bacca Pipes Jig (i.e., Greensleeves); (3) Constant Billy; (4) The Flowers of Edinburgh. Sharp offers danceable piano arrangements with instructions for performance; my arrangements are simply that, cutting down on repetition so that players and audience don’t get too bored. The tunes were gathered by Sharp et al., the under-parts are mine. Played with spirit, they are great fun.
