Saint-Saens’s familiar waltz here makes its appearance in yet another form, in an arrangement for flute choir (3 concert flutes, alto flute, bass flute). I have kept as closely as possible to the original score, though flute 1, which can be played by a strong soloist, has more to play than the solo violin of the original. All instruments have a share of the fun.
