You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. The six songs, offered in here in fairly simple arrangements which alternate lament with reel or jig, are, in order: Will he no come back again; The White Cockade; Wae’s me for Prince Charlie; Three good Fellows ayont yon Glen; O’er the Water to Charlie; Bessy’s Haggies. They are beautiful and moving, joyful and exuberant, and make a glorious contribution to the Flute Choir repertoire. Overall they are not too difficult, though there are some virtuoso moments. The piccolo is essential, envisaged as a solo part and played as reedily and mysteriously as possible. At a pinch it could be substituted by a solo flute. This part is at times hard, at least Grade 7+. Song source: James Hogg, The Jacobite Relics of Scotland, Being the Songs, Airs, and Legends of the House of Stuart, vols 1 and 2 (1819, 1821).
