The first movement of Dvorak’s lovely Serenade for Strings, Opus 22, is here arranged for a flute choir of modest proportions: 3 flutes, plus alto and bass. In order to keep to the registers of the original, flutes 2 and 3 need at least one player each with a B-foot, and there is some occasional doubling - though this could possibly be ignored at a pinch without too much detriment to the overall feel of the piece. It’s a wonderful movement, well worth the challenge, for a concert or just for fun. Dvorak wrote it, I loved arranging it, so this first movement is free of charge. Please enjoy it.
