The Alleluja from Mozart’s motet "Exultate, jubilate", K. 165, was written in 1773 in Milan, Italy, for the famous castrato Venancio Rauzzini. It was scored for high voice, two oboes, two horns, strings and organ. I have reduced the score string quartet. Most of the string parts are pretty much as Mozart wrote them with the exception of a few spots to cover the missing oboes and the spots where the soloist is independent of the original first violin part. (There is another version on my web site for strring quartet and soprano when the string quartet is called upon to provide the accompaniment.) The Alleluja has often been requested at weddings. If you enjoy it, check out my more than 70 arrangements (mainly for string quartet) and compositions below, or visit my web site at: http://members.sibeliusmusic.com/jjacklich/
