Stephen Adams (pseudonym of Michael Maybrick, 1844-1913) is probably best known for his sacred song The Holy City. The Midshipmite is song about a midshipman leading a land party of British sailors in an attack on Russian guns in the Crimea. It is another of the songs on naval themes that I am arranging for the Navy Birthday Ball at NAF, El Centro, in October, 2007.
