Johann Strauss, Jr., the "Waltz King," composed the Blue Danube Waltzes in 1867. Written to accompany a men's chorus, the original version was not very successful. Strauss revised the waltz as a piece for orchestra alone for the World's Fair, and this version proved highly successful.

This arrangement for string orchestra, has been arranged for the ensemble Bachanalia, directed by Nina Beilina.

Care has been taken to arrange page turns in the instrumental parts at rests or between waltzes. If you enjoy this arrangement, peruse my catalogue of more than 200 arrangements and compositions (mainly for string quartet) at: www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/store_catalogue.pl?storeid=452
