You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. In May 1994, Inez Del Rio, who was teaching group piano classes at Imperial Valley College was asked to play for the IVC Nursing Division pinning and graduation ceremony. She didn"t want to play the traditional Elgar’s "Pomp and Circumstance", nor did she want to play other standby marches: Verdi’s "Triumphal March" from "Aida", Meyerbeer’s March from "The Prophet", Mendelssohn’s March from "Athelia", or Vaughn Williams’ "Sine Nomine". I suggested Delibes’ "March and Procession of Bacchus" from the ballet "Sylvia which has always been an orchestral favorite of mine. She liked it, so I dug out my orchestral score and the following transcription is the result. I also have a string quartet arrangement of the piece on the site. If you enjoy it, check out the other piano works below, or visit my website at: http://members.sibeliusmusic.com/jjacklich/ to check out about sixty arrangements for string quartet/string orchestra.
