I offer here an arrangement for flute and piano of the first eight of Giuliani’s lovely Easy and Pleasant Pieces for flute and guitar in the hope that they will now be more frequently played. There are some glorious tunes here, and the first half (of the original sixteen) contain, I think, the best. I have kept as closely as possible to the original guitar part, though guitarists will notice the many deviations and additions. But of course, the virtuoso guitarist, then as now, would have complicated his/her part without mercy.
