New arrangements, varying in difficulty and mood, of 6 English and European traditional Christmas carols for two alto/treble recorders. They are: Angels we have heard on high (aka Angels from the realms of glory); See, amidst the winter's snow (John Goss); Out of the forest a cuckoo flew (Czech. traditional); Il est né, le divin enfant , which I have combined with the French carol, Willy, beat your little drum (Guillo, prân ton tambourin); Sing lullaby (the Basque carol Oi Betlem); and Veni Emmanuel (O Come, O Come Emmanuel). If played as a sequence, the latter, as an Advent carol, should really be played first. Recorder 2 has the more challenging part overall. In #4, it might be fun if alto 1 could pull out their sopranino for Guillo, prân ton tambourin, to convey its jauntiness.
