Arrangements that give the orchestra something different to play than a straight forward ’hymn-book’ harmonization. This one is very easy and will need little rehearsal. The conductor, or MC, should tell the audience that there are intros. to the two verses. If you want more verses than the two then to repeat either of them is very easy.
All these ’Carols for Audience’ have been played by the Kent Concert Orchestra at their yearly Christmas Concerts in the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury and now by various orchestras all over the world due to the wonder of Sibelius.
Scoring: 2,2,2,2: 4,2,3,1: Timps. Triangle: Harp: Strings.
