One of the bassoons may be substituted with a cello, but if this is the case, the second bassoon part, when it appears in cue form, should be played by the remaining bassoon player, if s/he is up to it!
The original tune is that of a Broadside Ballad entitled "Courtiers, courtiers, think it no harm"
