I started composing as a hobby during my teen-age years scribbling on manuscript paper while attending music theory classes out of school hours. However, a career in engineering/aeronautical research beckoned following degree studies at Liverpool University. It was only during the late 1980's that computer technology for the masses began to emerge, and of course now the hardware and software that has evolved can be applied to a vast range of activities, including music composition. What would we do without Sibelius software I wonder??? My scores play through my Sound Canvas Midi Sound Generator SC-55 and/or GPO sounds (Kontakt Player…). The combination of SC-55 and GPO seems to get around some of the drop-outs I used to hear when many instruments were sounding at the same time. Play the mp3s while following the scores, shifting them along from page to page by clicking the arrows.
