Depicts the chase and capture of evil dwarves and trolls by giants and wizards. Began to take shape in 1994 as I experimented with Bars and Pipes Pro sequencer software running on my Amiga 1200. Later the midi file was transferred to a PC running Encore software which provides musical scores. It has now taken its final form (10min 23sec) in Sibelius. I looked upon its initial creation as a learning exercise as I explored the use of the substantial range of electronic sounds available through my GS standard Roland Sound Canvas (still working, 14 years old). Some of its sounds approach true orchestral instrument sounds, and I find it challenging to create an acceptable mix with other electronic sounds. Perhaps the �purist� might turn a deaf ear to this and some of my other pieces! C�est la vie! For correct rendition it needs to be played through GS standard hardware � could �scorch� your HI-FI speakers! Alternatively, play the mp3. Lyrics and text are included in the score to tell the simple tale. I am reasonably happy with the outcome (room for improvement if I up-grade to a new GS hardware system!). Note that all the computers I have used over the years (Amiga and three generations of Windows PC) have output music files to my RSC. Knowing its sound capabilities helps when creating something new, particularly orchestrations. Not a problem for compositions with few parts.
