When night falls he enters the underworld where he does battle with the fierce snake like creature Apep . If he defeats the creature Ra is reborn and the following day will be bright and sunny, and everyone will be optimistic about its prospects. If, however, Ra is defeated, then storm clouds will blight the day and the omens will be dire.
’Creator of the world’, is the fourth song in the collection and tells of the creation of the world by Ra. He creates the Gods charged with the responsibility of overseeing various aspects of daily life. They will become members of the all powerful Ennead which are the select group of Gods who will sit in judgement over all aspects of life on earth.
