This journey is undertaken in a boat crewed by several of His relatives. When night falls he enters the underworld where he does battle with the fierce snake-like creature Apep. If he defeats the creature Ra is reborn and the following day will be bright and sunny, and everyone will be optimistic about its prospects. If Ra loses the battle then storm clouds will blight the day and the omens are dire.
’Abtu and Ant’, are two pilot fish that guide Ra’s boat through the treacherous waters that lead to the underworld. It is the tenth song in the cycle.
