As a trumpeter, I'd been looking forward to arranging this piece for some time, and the experience of working on this arrangement gave me yet more insight into the relationship between the solo parts and the exchange of material between the soloists. The lead trumpeter, for example, should not assume that this is a trumpet concerto and simply take over the texture - it is a concerto grosso, with four soloists, and the top four members of the quintet are all soloists in this arrangement.
