A thoroughly old-fashioned, traditional Te Deum, which I started when I was an undergraduate at Oxford in 1963, abandoned, rediscovered, tinkered with, and have finally completed (!). I have departed from the original grandiose scoring for separate cantoris and decani choirs, though it would still benfit from some antiphonal singing. The half-echo towards the end of the hymn Lasst uns erfreuen is deliberate and, I hope, appropriate.
