The last in my series of five communion anthems using Celtic folk melodies. The Breton melody lends itself to a haunting and at times thrilling treatment of simple words to accompany the act of communion. This setting particularly, with its more contrapuntal keyboard accompaniment, would benefit from additional instruments. See also:In the quiet of this moment; Wafer and darkest wine; With this bread and with this wine;Jesu, we come with re’rence and love.
