"The Minstrel Boy" is an Irish patriotic song commonly played at army, services and firemen’s funerals. It’s lyrics were written by Thomas Moore (1779–1852)and it is played to the melody "The Moreen", a traditional Irish air. Moore is thought to have composed the song in memory of friends he met at Trinity College, Dublin who participated in the Irish Rebellion of 1798 and were killed. This is a flexible arrangement for two guitars and flute or for three guitars if preferred. Two guitar parts are available in TAB as well as notation and I shall make the melody available as TAB later if requested.
