You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices."The Minstrel Boy" is an Irish patriotic song commonly played at army, services and firemen’s funerals. It’s lyrics were written by Thomas Moore (1779–1852)and it is played to the melody "The Moreen", a traditional Irish air. Moore is thought to have composed the song in memory of friends he met at Trinity College, Dublin who participated in the Irish Rebellion of 1798 and were killed. This is a transcription of a Victorian version of this lovely song. It comes from a collection I have of unknown date. The arranger is unlisted, as is so often the case, but I wanted to make it available and arrange it for other instrumental groups.
