"Modes I" is another example of my exploration of overlapping melodic lines in different meters. As in "Drumming I", I focus on 12/8, 6/4 and 3/2, which are all equivalent (the measures mathematically add up the same), but have different stresses. Even though all the melodic lines are based on the same chords, the different meters affect where the chord changes will happen. "Modes I" and "Drumming I" may be performed simultaneously.
