William Berthouex

I am from Memphis, TN and graduated with a Bachelor of Musical Arts Degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. I have a Master's degree in Music Composition from DePaul University (Chicago, IL) where I studied composition under Christopher Jones, Seung-Ah Oh, and Kurt Westerburg.

I have studied Piano and Violin, but Viola is my primary instrument. My style is distinctly tonal and I write my melodies to be lyrical and memorable. I have always been fascinated by dancing and the coordinated and smoothly flowing movements of the older dance styles (e.g. Ballroom dancing) and my music reflects this.
