Dorset Wind Music is managed posthumously so you can still enjoy Rodney Parker’s music. Although mainly writing for Clarinet and Saxophone, Rodney Parker has Wind Band, Orchestra and Choral scores on his site. He was a member The Performing Right Society and The Mechanical Copyright Society .In addition to Score Exchange he also has arrangements and compositions with Faber Music, Alfred Lengnick and Molenaar Edition of Holland. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, London, and an Associate of The Royal College of Music.
Rodney Parker enjoyed a 35 year career in Army Music. He progressed through the ranks, studying at The Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall and held the position of Director of Music of for The Royal Army Ordnance Corp, The Gurkhas and The Grenadier Guards. During this time he played at the Prince of Wales’ Investiture and directed the music for many of the great national events including the Royal Tournament, the Edinburgh Tattoo and Trooping the Colour. His career took him all over the world including a 64 city tour of the USA as Director of Music of The Grenadier Guards and directing the music for Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s visit to the Soviet Union in 1990 when he was based in Moscow and Kiev.
