Clarinet players will be familiar with some of the tunes as they also appear in his Divertimenti for two clarinets and basset horn. Some performance suggestions : 1st Mvt - quite robust playing. The combined legato/staccato articulation should be played with a 'bounce'. 2nd Mvt - Minuetto. Almost a one-in-a-bar feel, gliding along. 3rd Mvt. A short but exquisite Adagio - some light vibrato perhaps. 4th Mvt - Quite fast and plenty of dynamic interest. This is just beautiful music and I've really enjoyed arranging it!
