The "Wedding March" comes from Felix Mendelssohn's enduring "A Midsummer Nights Dream" music in which themes from the Overture, of same title, are cleverly adapted as motiffs, and later, 1843, incorporated into his incidental music. It is one of the best known pieces that he wrote. The overture is one of the 1st 'Concert Overtures' and was composed for Shakespear's play "A Midsommer Nights Dream" when Mendelssohn was only 17 years of age.
