An immensely popular carol, it was also included in Christmas Carols New and Old (1871-80), edited by Henry Ramsden Bramley and John Stainer. This simple, somewhat mournful tune, has remained popular in both England and America.
This arrangement comes with a Beginners' third violin part, and an optional bass part for use with string orchestra.
