'Three Faces of the Moon' was written at the request of Jane Carter for two Flutes students between Grades 7-8. The work is based on moon themes from 'A Midsummer Nights Dream.' The first movement evokes the sinister image of the moon with the goddess 'Hecate.' This is a haunting waltz with a chromatic theme. The harmony is based on a cycle of minor 3rd (as is the other movement in which the interval of a 3rd is very important) This movement run straight into the 2nd, Artemis. The work was first performed in Egham by Louise Taylor, Ruth Hopkins and G.Bunce (later Orchestrated)
