You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices."Tater Wedge Wraiths" is the first solo classical piece in the "Wraiths" series, NOT to be confused with any of my other sinister series, that pay tribute to Fiends (not friends) and other horrible beasts of the night and to the marvelous influences, much to many's dismay and chagrin, they have had on my person and my composing.
"Tater Wedge Wraiths" is based on 6/8 cross-rhythms. It begins firmly in A minor, but with an obscene level of chromaticism. There is a modulation to D minor at mm. 8/9, then there is a rather ambiguous section mm. 16-18 that somehow tortuously returns us to A minor.
The piece is laden with 6/8 polyrhythms and keeps tending toward diminution through the main theme. There is a complete diminution mm. 16-19 which will take extra care to carry off.
Despite some jarring and horrifying twists and turns, the coda offers some solace in a tender passage through D minor to A minor employing a partially diminished motif of the main theme.
Though the "Wraiths" pieces share little thematic material yet make the same sinister and haunting aura about them. I sincerely hope that you enjoy this piece as well as the other "Wraiths" pieces.
