This psalm is one of the great “praise” psalms which help us give the praise God deserves. It starts by offering God the praise from our whole being - our mind, body and spirit. Quite often it’s easy to forget all the benefits that God provides us on a daily basis - that he forgives us, heals us, saves us, loves us far more than we deserve and supplies us with all we truly need.
One of the greatest set of promises develops in the Bridge of the song. The writer of the Psalm firstly visualises how great God loves us and then secondly, how far he removes our sins from us when he forgives us. Then the bridge continues from verses 20-22 in the psalm, that we join our praise of God with angels, with those in heaven, humankind on earth and of course all creation. Each in his own way brings something back to God for the greatness he has shown to us.
Psalms like 103 are great in helping us bring our daily praise to God in worship to him and not forgetting all the amazing things he’s done in our lives.
