This prelude, or meditation, on Gibbons’s ’Drop, drop, slow tears’ is designed as an instrumental interlude for use at any appropriate point during a service. It is quiet and ruminative throughout, and well suited to one of the penitential seasons. Please feel free to change instrumentation, or to use it simply as a suggestion for further improvisation. Parts available free from me via e-mail.
