You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. This is my first band piece (and the first of the "dark" titles), composed when I was a sophomore in high school as the final product for my Music Technology class. It's kinda slow and monotonous and in my opinion doesn't do anything really interesting. I originally composed it on Encore but redid it for Sibelius (keeping most of the original errors). This is probably my earliest piece on SibeliusMusic so far.
Here are the original program notes: "'Darkwood' is a forest that I envisioned based on [my friend] Stephen Blocker's story called 'The Empire of Old Luna.' The song was called this because it fit the mood. In this song, there are different styles to represent one's journey through the forest. There are too many different adventures in the forest to explain how they appear in the song. But basically, the adventures vary from a mysterious entrance to a dark ending. If you imagine a mysterious forest and listen to the song very carefully, you could think about the travels and adventures that the character may have. It could be anything to romance to violence to even death at the end."
