I�ve been composing for six years and it�s been really great, so I wanted to pay tribute to one of my first composition influences, the Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu (who composed the music to many Final Fantasy games). I really enjoy his work and as you can tell his style has influenced my own work. I didn�t want to use any new and unusual techniques, but just wanted to reflect on my past and how much I�ve loved it.
The title �In Suspension� refers to the suspended state I become in when I compose. When I�m just pounding away at the piano or just writing at my computer I tend to lose track of time, hunger, and even how sleepy I might be. Composing is just so special to me, and I wanted to portray that sense of suspension with this piece. Hope you enjoy it!
