Charles Lockhart (c.1738-1815) was a blind organist who lived most of his life in London. "Carlisle" is the best-known of his hymns. Richard Mant (1776-1848) served as a priest in England and as a bishop in Ireland. He translated many Latin hymns into English, e.g. "Let the round world with songs rejoice". Perhaps his best-known hymn is "For all thy saints, O Lord".
