Charles Lockhart (c.1738-1815) was a blind organist who lived most of his life in London. "Carlisle" is the best-known of his hymns. Edwin Hatch (1835-1889) served as a priest in England and in Canada. His hymn "Breathe on me, Breath of God" was first published in "The Congregational Psalmist Hymnal " (1886)
