You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.Orpheus in the Underworld was composed by Jacques Offenbach in 1858. It is perhaps the world’s first full length operetta.
This arrangement for solo guitar of the Infernal Galop is one I have used with students for many years before scoring it on sibelius. It is intended to be really good fun, very easy and playable by a grade 1/2 guitarist. I call it Can Can Fun At The Moulin Rouge because the Infernal Galop from Act II, Scene 2 of Orpheus actually IS most famous outside classical circles as the music for the "Can-can", but I would recommend any young guitarist to do a search of youtube to hear it played and sung properly by full orchestra and soloists. The original is well worth hearing!
