I really am guessing the date of composition here, having searched for it unsuccessfully! If anyone can put me right with references I would be grateful. This score is in larger font for ease of reading, parts are available separately to avoid page turns however!

Tarrega, who as you probably know was considered the father of modern guitar playing, was also a very fine teacher and wrote many instructional pieces some of which are derived from arrangements of earlier ideas. This arpeggio study has similarities to Romanza - also known as Spanish Ballad. It presents an opportunity for apoyando strokes with ring finger to emphasize a melody.

My arrangement emphasizes the apoyando notes in a third part as I firmly believe it should be played with more sustain than modern scores hint at!

I did this arrangement for an electric guitarist who was a non-reader but wanted to play classical guitar, hence the TAB. The tab is blue in my score - I did it on an earlier version of sibelius but can't remember why nor how to change colour back to black - silly me….
