Franz Schubert’s Ave Maria is often requested for weddings and funerals. This version features the viola as soloist. It can be played in various combinations: by string quartet (with the solo in the viola); voice, 2 violins and cello; voice and string quartet; piano quintet; voice, 2 violins and cello; voice and piano quintet; viola and piano; and voice and piano. Other versions arranged for violin as soloist, and for cello as soloist, are also available.
