These arrangements are for performance and are very precise. This is quite a challenging arrangement of this famous aria from BWV 208. The guitar parts will require concentration and practice especially as they use the top end of the guitar going above the 12th fret . Guitar 4 will work best on a bass instrument but I have included a part in treble clef for the guitarists which will work, though losing some resonance. I have also included the soprano part with lyrics at the original pitch as not only can it be sung but it could be played on any suitable instrument. This is a wonderful piece and justly famous. It sits well on the guitar as the original orchestration was 2 recorders, soprano and continuo. 'Was mir behagt, ist nur die muntre Jagd' (The lively hunt is all my heart's desire), BWV 208, also known as the Hunting Cantata, is a secular cantata composed by Johann Sebastian Bach for the 31st birthday of Duke Christan of Saxe-Weissenfels on 23 February 1713. The aria "Schafe können sicher weiden" (Sheep May Safely Graze) is the most familiar part of this cantata and the subject of this arrangement.
