Our camp included a large group of young people from Tbilisi in Georgia, and they happened to include an excellent choir of amazing Georgian-style singers - when they sang, they literally made the window panes rattle in whatever building they sang in! During our camp, the military coup occurred in the Soviet Union, the country in which they were living at that time. Every evening, these young people we glued to the radio trying to understand what was happening in their country. This was the first time I ever heard the name Boris Yeltsin, whose new Russia I was to move to 5 years later! I composed this little anthem for this Georgian choir to sing at the final concert at our camp, by which time the country that they had come from had completely changed forever. Quite an emotional event in the end.
