Bach’s Cantata BWV 68 "Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt" for Whit Monday (the second day of Pentecost), orginally set in the key of F major for Soprano soloist accompanied by only continuo (bass) and piccolo cello. In this G-major arrangement, solo violin takes over the melody from the soprano, and the accompaniment is switched from strings to keyboard (organ). I have added phrasing and a few Baroque ornaments for the violin part, as well as the figured bass line for the accompaniment (from an 18th C. German manuscript). Rather than using the standard keyboard accompaniment, I rather like this original hurdy-gurdy-esque cello/continuo sound, which I transcribed into the organ part.
