All of my "Phase Puzzles" pieces were inspired by the phasing technique used by Steve Reich and others. The rhythms I choose to phase will eventually interlock and create constant 16th notes, which I consider "solving the puzzle". In "Drumline Phase Puzzles", the two tenor drum parts phase the rhythms, while the snares, basses and cymbals keep the groove.
