The Scottish minister George Matheson's hymn "Make me a captive, Lord" was written in 1890. It deals with the need to surrender to God's will. Sir George Elvey's tune "Diademata" was published in 1868 with the words "Crown him with many crowns". This is an arrangement for the last verse of the hymn. The organ part has been reharmonised and two descants have been added to the music.
