A Dignity of Labour Ensemble piece, featuring Lina Alemanno. Main ideas here include an intro sufficiently dissonant and metrically disruptive that the ensuing melody presents itself as a (relative) resolution; strongly syncopated accompaniment figures as a substitute for animated harmonic motion; a disjunct bass line (which the bassist may vary freely in performance) for a the same purpose; and finally, as the title suggests, an evocation of the great Sonny Rollins, through the use of one of his phrases in "Blue Seven" asthe basis for the tune.
