You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. The Scottish folk tune Aitken (or Aiken) Drum is believed to have originated as a Jacobite song about the Battle of Sheriffmuir in 1715. Now, it is perhaps better known as a nursery rhyme, with lyrics that describe the different items of Aitken Drum’s clothing being made of assorted foodstuffs. By adding appropriate actions or images, children learn terms for body parts and clothing items. A number of different variants exist – for example, outside Scotland, ‘lasagne’ is sometimes substituted for ‘haggis bags’ in the verse beginning ‘and his breeks were made of haggis bags’.
