A Song Without Words, Arranged for Piano

You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.A Song Without Words is in 6/8 time but it has an interesting aspect to the meter. The melody line has the feel of 3/4 and the accompaniment has the feel of 6/8. The melody is in a high register. Its tempo is slow. These factors give this piece moments of a slight ethereal effect. So, for me these characteristics make this song feel rather meditative and somewhat longing with a gentle waltz rhythm. Because of the slow adagio tempo and smooth line on top of the underlying regular, two groups of triply divided beat, it also is a lullaby. This little piece has a little waltz emphasis that comes up twice. It represents a yearning to dance. One may find the music to float and move gracefully. I find this same kind of nature with how the cosmos seems to move in the bigger view of the Universe. It is only a little piece, a small work, but it has come forth from some underlying meaning in friendship, so it holds that kind of value if one can see it.
