Programme Notes

Modal Dance Suite is based on 17th century traditional dance forms. The music is strictly modal, with no notes outside of the modes. There are six short dances. The first movement has two dances and the other movements are each one dance. There are two arrangements, one for piano and one for classical orchestra.
