'Libestr�ume' was written in March 1998 whilst I was taking my A-levels. The title (Love's dream) is evoked by the romantic harmony although the false relation in both the melody and harmony suggests that all is not straightforward. The piece was influenced by the preludes of Chopin which I was playing at the time but does not have the same thematic development that is seen in Chopin's works. The structure is a simple ternary and the piece is ideal for improving right-hand chordal work.
