'Libestr�ume' was originally a solo piano piece written in March 1998 whilst I was taking my A-levels. The title (Love's dream) is evoked by the romantic harmony although the false relation in both the melody and harmony suggests that all is not straightforward. The piece was influenced by the preludes of Chopin which I was playing at the time but does not have the same thematic development that is seen in Chopin's works. The piano version has been grouped with the set called �Romantic Miniatures for Piano.� (see website). This group is a set of pieces consisting of 10 of my more interesting early compositions and any romantic miniatures that I have written up to the present day.
'Libestr�ume' was orchestrated in February 2006 for the orchestra of Furze Platt Senior School - some of the parts are relatively simple for this reason.
