Known as Althea Cooper at UWI, then Althea Cooper Browne during the late 80 's until I moved from corporate Kingston,Jamaica to the North Coast to play at the former Dunn’s River Hotel, Ciboney Hotel , and others in the Ochi area..got married to the gorgeous man, singer reggae songwriter Kingsley and have been a Wray for 21 years!!….been back in London since 2000. My extended family at Rye Lane Chapel in Peckham, South London help to keep me real as I lead worship and write songs for the Lord.
As a composer I have written over 100 contemporary gospel songs, children's song and classical pieces, including my first ever string quartet in honour of the 200th anniversary of our church in Peckham. We published my first worship songbook entitled ‘Songs for Life’ in 2008. We are completing volume 2 as well as our first contemporary Christmas cantata entitled a 'Dream Come True'. We have released a range of albums in the UK including 'No boundariesnobordersnolimits' back in 2004. Our contemporary worship band 'Jasper' ministers by invitation. I am also a Reception class teacher and Music Lead at a primary school in Sydenham and that keeps me young too. I teach piano, guitar, voice and recorder at home.
